Traffic Update: McMullen Booth Lane Closures Will Impact Traffic for 2-3 Weeks

Posted on October 3, 2021October 3, 2021 by Jay @ Welcome to Trinity!

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Starting Monday, Oct. 4, two lanes of southbound traffic along McMullen Booth Road just north of State Road 580 in Clearwater will close to traffic. The city of Clearwater’s contractor will begin the process of repairing the broken sewer pipe along the roadway, and the dual lane closure is anticipated to be in place for two to three weeks.

On Sunday, a 24-inch sewer main pipe broke 20 feet below the surface of the road, causing a hole to open up, which resulted in the closure of a single lane.

Beginning Monday at 9 a.m., two lanes will be closed. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes, if possible.

The city will provide an update later in the week once crews excavate and know more about the needed repairs.

Let’s Eat: Central Park Family Restaurant

Posted on March 17, 2021March 21, 2021 by Jay @ Welcome to Trinity!

Central Park Family Restaurant is an amazing little family run restaurant in Trinity. We’ve been ordering from them since the Covid-19 outbreak earlier in 2020 and their food and service has always been tremendous. They are located at 7657 State Road 54 in Trinity and are open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

We frequently order both breakfast and dinner from Central Park and have always been impressed by their food. Their extensive menu has a ton of offerings for just about any tastes! My personal favorites are their French toast, Philly Cheesesteaks, fresh pressed Cuban and the fish and chips!

Here’s some additional information provided from their website:

“Originally from New York City, we have served millions the great taste of a New York Diner here in Florida. We vow to our customers to bring the taste of home style cooking with reasonable prices. Quality and customer service has always been our number one priority. Unlike other food establishments or businesses “we are here to make friends!” Please enjoy your dining experience with us and help us continue to grow by telling your friends and family. If you enjoyed your dining experience with us tell your friends and family. If for any reason you did not, please tell us.”

Starkey Ranch / Trinity School Rezoning Information

Posted on September 30, 2020September 30, 2020 by Jay @ Welcome to Trinity!

With the scheduled opening of Starkey Ranch K8 school for the 2021 school year, there will be a rezoning taking place in order to evenly distribute the population across the available schools. Here is the latest information.

  • Starkey Ranch / Trinity Elementary School Rezoning Map for 2021 – Click Here
  • Starkey Ranch / Trinity Middle School Rezoning Map for 2021 – Click Here

Questions and Answers

  • When will the boundaries change? If approved by the School Board, these changes will go into effect at the start of the 2020-21 school year.
  • Which students will be affected? Students currently zoned for Dr. John Long Middle, Pasco High, Pasco Middle, Quail Hollow Elementary, Wesley Chapel High and Wiregrass Ranch High Schools may potentially be affected.
  • How will I know which school my child will be attending next year? The maps posted on the rezoning page of the Pasco County Schools’ website, detail the impacted areas:  pasco.k12.fl.us/planning/page/rezoning
  • Will rising seniors be allowed to remain at their current school? Yes, students who will be seniors during the 2020-2021 school year will remain at their current school.  Bus transportation on a senior-only bus will be provided for those seniors who are currently eligible for bus transportation.
  • If my child was previously approved for school choice to attend an out-of-boundary school that is now impacted by boundary changes, do I need to complete a School Choice-Open Enrollment Application for the 2020-21 school year? No, for this rezoning, the Superintendent has determined that students currently on school choice, who are at a school that is being rezoned, will not have to reapply for school choice to remain at their current school.
  • Can my child attend an out-of-boundary school?  School Choice applications are accepted in December and January for schools that have available seats. Parents may submit a request for their child to attend one of those schools for the following year.  Siblings of rising seniors and students entering the highest grade served at a school (5th or 8th graders) will be given priority in the school choice process.  Click here for more information about school choice.
  • How do these boundary changes affect bus transportation for my child? Transportation is provided to zoned schools for students who live further than 2 miles from the school.  However, transportation to a non-magnet school, that is outside the student’s attendance zone, is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  • My child is in an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. Will there be any change due to the new boundaries?  If the program your child is in is unique to the school you currently attend then no, the boundary changes should not impact his/her educational services at the newly zoned school.  If the same services are offered at the newly zoned school then yes, the boundary changes may impact the school your child attends.
  • How will decisions about school choice applications be made? The district has a Board approved Controlled Open Enrollment Plan.  This plan, reviewed and revised annually as needed, complies with state and federal laws.  It established preferences for school choice requests and guides all decisions for parental requests to attend a school of choice.  The plan may be viewed at: http://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/library/ed_choice/Controlled_Open_Enrollment_plan.pdf

Grand Opening: UrgentVet Trinity

UrgentVet Expands its Tampa Bay Presence With New Clinic in Pasco County
Open 365 days a year, the clinic offers an affordable alternative to veterinary ER

ODESSA, Fla.
– Sept. 30, 2020 – UrgentVet, the first dedicated urgent care clinic for pets, announced today it is expanding its presence in the Tampa Bay area by opening a third local clinic. The new clinic, which is located at 12307 State Road 54 in Odessa, is opening its doors to the public tomorrow, Thursday, October 1.

Officially named UrgentVet-New Port Richey, the clinic at the intersection of State Road 54 and Trinity Boulevard offers convenient access for pet parents residing in New Port Richey, Odessa, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel and throughout northern Hillsborough County. Its physical location is at the entrance to the Starkey Ranch master-planned development, making it particularly accessible for residents of the booming community.

“Pasco County has some of the fastest-growing neighborhoods in all of Tampa Bay, and we’re excited to open a clinic right in the heart of that growth,” said Dr. Jim Dobies, Founder, UrgentVet. “We feel that this new site allows us to serve a huge population of pet parents who may never have had access to a clinic like ours before.”

The new clinic will be UrgentVet’s fifth nationally and the third to open in the Tampa Bay area behind Westchase (August 2019) and Brandon (February 2020). Founded in 2015, UrgentVet also has locations in the Charlotte Metro area.

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all UrgentVet clinics have adopted new processes to ensure the safety of both pet parents and employees.

Pet parents can use the website to check their pet in, and call or use the clinic’s intercom to alert staff once they arrive. The UrgentVet team will wear masks to limit any potential exposure while retrieving the pet, allowing pet parents to remain safe in the comfort of their car. In cases of euthanasia, a total of two visitors are allowed to accompany the pet inside.

UrgentVet fills the widening care gap that exists between traditional daytime veterinary practices and specialized 24-hour emergency hospitals, providing affordable after-hours relief on weeknights, weekends and holidays year-round.

Like its other Tampa Bay locations, UrgentVet-New Port Richey will be open from 3 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and Noon to 8 p.m. on holidays.

The vision behind the UrgentVet practice model is to provide dogs and cats with trusted after-hours acute care just like an urgent care for humans. Pet parents in the area should continue to take pets to their primary care veterinarian for wellness care and routine visits, but UrgentVet-New Port Richey offers a trusting and compassionate option after-hours.

UrgentVet clinics routinely treat vomiting, diarrhea, lacerations, wounds, and skin and ear problems among many other presenting complaints.

On average, an UrgentVet bill is about 40% less than what a pet parent might pay for comparable services at a veterinary ER. No appointments are necessary, and pet parents who check in online can request that the clinic send a text message when it’s time to come in.

UrgentVet’s stress-free experience for pets is enhanced by the clinic design and special training the staff receives. All veterinarians and support staff are “Fear Free Certified Professionals,” which means they’re skilled in caring for both the pet’s physical and emotional well-being.

In addition, there are separate dog and cat waiting areas for pets and their parents to avoid what might be anxiety-inducing situations. All exam rooms have dimmable lighting for anxious animals, relaxing music to soothe the pets and each member of the staff wears sprayable pheromones for a calming effect.

The clinic itself is 2,100 square feet with a total of five exam rooms—two for large dogs, two for small dogs and one exclusively for cats—in addition to a separate comfort room. Other features include an in-house diagnostic lab, digital X-ray machine, ultrasound and cloud-based medical record-keeping software. The large dog rooms contain state-of-the-art lift tables, which also double as a non-slip scale, that lower to the floor for easy access for dogs who may be too heavy to pick up.

With all of its clinics, UrgentVet aims to develop strong relationships with neighboring primary care veterinarians, a practice that the new clinic staff has already started. After a pet’s visit, UrgentVet delivers lab work and X-rays with a referral letter to that pet’s veterinarian within 24 hours so that they can be informed and schedule a follow-up visit at their location.

“We know how deeply our pet parents care for their pets, and so we do whatever we can to ease what might be a tense or scary situation with compassionate care,” Dr. Dobies said. “Our goal is never to replace a primary care vet but rather to be there in the times that those vets aren’t able to be.”

For more information, visit UrgentVet.com.
